A CHANCE to experience the goings-on inside what has been labelled 'Skipton's best-kept secret' can be taken throughout September.

The town's Oddfellows and Three Links Club is holding a series of events designed to allow the curious to find out more and take a peek inside the flower-fronted building on the edge of the town hall car park.

Members have designated September as 'Friendship Month' and are inviting everyone to see all the events and benefits that the club, which is non-profit and "run by members for members," has to offer.

On Sunday, September 17, a Friendship Walk around Skipton starts at the club at 11am before returning for a 'pie and peas' lunch, with a fee of £1 for the walk and £3 for the lunch.

On Wednesday, September 20, there is an opportunity to find out about the Skipton branch of the Oddfellows with a free 'interactive information evening' starting at 7pm.

This will be followed by a description of all the benefits of membership, which include assistance with dental and optical treatment, benevolent grants, competitive loans arrangements and access to the Three Links Club, as well as highlighting the various social activities, including live acts.

And music will be featured over September 22-24 when the club hosts its annual 'Country and Western' weekend. There will be acts on Friday evening, Saturday afternoon and evening, and again on Sunday afternoon and early evening. Attendance is free and open to visitors.
