AN appeal has been lodged against a decision to refuse plans to build 20 homes at Ling Haw Hill, Cononley Road, Cross Hills.
Craven District Council refused the application by Mr and Mrs BH Green in December last year on the grounds it would result in visual harm to the rural character of the area.
The council said the site was on the edge of Glusburn and formed an important gateway to the village, there was also a high level of public views from Cononley Road.
The application, which was in outline only, also fell on the site's limited links to services, including to Glusburn Primary School.
An appeal has been lodged with the government's Planning Inspectorate which is expected to take several weeks to make a decision.
