CONONLEY Singers have begun rehearsals for a busy autumn and Christmas programme which starts on Saturday with a charity concert in aid of Yorkshire Cancer Research at the Victoria Hall, Keighley.

The choir will perform alongside the City of Bradford Brass Band, and the concert will start at 7pm for 7.30pm, and tickets will be available on the door.

Last November the singers competed at the Colne Music Festival and won The Stuttard Trophy for mixed voice choirs and they will be there again on November 25 to defend their title.

December is always a busy time and this year is no exception with carol singing in Leeds outside John Lewis inside the Victoria Quarter on December 2 in aid of Leeds Children’s Heart Surgery Fund. They will also sing carols in Cross Hills and Cononley on December 20.

Cononley Singers expect to be invited to return to Bradford for the fifth year running to participate in The Cooperative Funeral Care annual carol service at Bradford Cathedral.

Their Christmas concert dates will be Friday, December 15, in Cononley and Saturday, December 16, in Skipton when they will perform their usual mix of carols and festive songs.
