West Riding County Amateur League Division One: Steeton Reserves 12 TVR United 5

STEETON'S second string ran away with a momentous victory at Summerhill Lane which took the team to third in the Division One table.

Will Knight scored an incredible six goals and Callum Wear bagged a hat-trick while Ben Richardson, Jack Richmond and Greig Hudson all each scored one.

The visitors replied with goals from Jivad Taj, Faisal Shabir, Danny Hussain, and two from former Steeton striker Aaran Abbas.

* Steeton's newly formed under-18 side beat Silsden with a Zain Hussain goal being the difference.

Meanwhile, the Chevrons under-19s went down 3-1 to last year's champions Ossett Albion in the Northern Under-19 Alliance Football League at University Academy Keighley.

Freddie Binns put Steeton ahead in the first half and his side had a couple of chances to increase the lead.

These were not taken and three second-half goals saw the visitors take all three points. However there were a lot of positives for Steeton with five 16-year-olds in the squad.

First-team manager Roy Mason said of the side: "This is a great stride forward for the club and it shows our intention to continue the progression of both the club and also the younger players.

"I would like to pay tribute to the work that our under-19 manager Pete Jeffrey has done in getting the side into this league, which was made even harder by him having to sort a suitable venue, given the fact that we haven't got floodlights."
