MORE than 200 people have already signed up for a charity race day due to be held next month at the Bolton Abbey estate.

Run Bolton Abbey in aid of Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice will give runners the choice of trail runs of 10k, ten mile and a half marathon.

Routes will all be within the estate and will take in, the Valley of Desolation and Strid Wood, in addition to some areas not usually accessible by the public.

There will also be a two mile fun run, suitable for all the family, which will follow a route along the River Wharfe to Bolton Priory.

The event, on November 12, is being supported by Skipton Athletics Club, with help from Manorlands volunteers and The Airedale Dodgers.

Molly Ralphson, Manorlands community fundraiser said “Bolton Abbey Estate is especially beautiful in autumn, we are really looking forward to hosting this event, and there is a route to choose for all abilities of runner. We expect it will become a firm favourite on the running calendar. Having only launched the event a couple of weeks ago we are delighted to have over 200 pre-entries already. I would encourage participants not to delay in entering this event or they might miss out."

All finishers will receive a medal and goody bag, and will benefit from the latest 'chip timing'.

Cost of entering one of the races will vary from £5 to £25. Manorlands is also hoping businesses will sponsor the event. To register or to find out more, go to the website: sueryder.org/runboltonabbey
