ULTRA fast broadband is to arrive in one if the most sparsely populated areas of Craven and North Yorkshire.

Boundless Networks, a fixed wireless internet service provider, launched its ultrafast 100Mbps service at Kilnsey Show.

It is one of the first companies in the UK to test and deliver ultrafast broadband in an area with such a low population.

The service is being rolled out across North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and Lancashire over the next three years.

The company is expanding its coverage so that more people can access the ultrafast world and experience 4K TV at its best.

New wireless technology is allowing areas of Craven and North Yorkshire the ability to access the internet at ultrafast speeds in excess of 100 Megabits per second (Mbps) and up to 200Mbps – over twice as fast as standard Fibre to the Green Cabinet services that many areas can now access.

Boundless Networks Chairman David Hood, who lives in Craven, said: “We are really proud and pleased to be the first provider to offer ultrafast internet services into Craven and rural North Yorkshire. We're investing in providing services that can only be dreamt of by many across the UK."

It will remove the need for homes and businesses to wait for the Government’s Universal Service Obligation of 10Mbps.
