AWARD winning Coniston Hotel is heading into the autumn with a newly appointed spa manager and The Good Spa Guide’s prestigious five bubble accolade.

Georgie Hutchinson has been appointed spa manager at the hotel and country estate at Coniston Cold following a record six-month turnover period.

Georgie, previously head therapist at the hotel for two years, specialises in holistic therapy and working with luxe brands. As spa manager, Georgie will be responsible for the day to day running of the spa, staff development and the consistent high standard of treatments and service.

Louise Bolton, managing director of The Coniston, said: “We are delighted to offer Georgie this promotion. We’re confident that her enthusiasm and dedication to our customers’ and the spa will enhance our guests’ experience.”

Georgie, 30, said: “The spa industry is constantly changing, with new trends coming to light all the time. I’m really passionate about embracing these experiences and using them to build on the success that The Coniston Spa has already achieved.”

Following an independent visit from a spa expert earlier this year, the luxury £2.4million spa, which opened in 2015, has retained its impressive five bubble rating from The Good Spa Guide.

The coveted award has recognised the spa’s customer service, unique treatments and heavenly dining experience in Nourish Brasserie, describing it as a slice of spa luxury.

The spa 'spy' who visited The Coniston, said: “With its striking design, outdoor infinity-edge bubble pool and view at every turn, it definitely has the ‘wow’ factor. The treatment was really innovative, I hadn’t experienced anything like it before and my therapist was very professional and friendly. It did make me look and feel years younger.”

Louise added: “Our team is always striving to be at the forefront of the industry in terms of customer experience. We work hard to keep our decisions centred around the guests and their needs, so it’s fantastic to be recognised as one of The Good Spa Guide’s five bubble destinations for a second year.”

The spa has now been shortlisted in the ‘Best Country Retreat Spa’ category of The Good Spa Guide 2017 Awards and in the 2017 Professional Beauty Awards for ‘North East Spa of the year’.

In addition, the hotel has also been shortlisted for ‘Large Hotel of the Year’ in the Welcome to Yorkshire White Rose Awards and as a ‘company turning over less that £10m’ in the Yorkshire Post Excellence in Business Awards 2017.

The awards ceremonies, held in October and November, will showcase the brilliance and diversity in the UK spa industry and highlight the best businesses in Yorkshire.
