AN exciting new initiative was recently launched at Threshfield Primary School based on the wishes of the children.

Flying School has been developed by staff in response to feedback from the pupil council.

And its aim is to encourage leadership at all levels in the school, and allow pupils the opportunity to develop opportunities to shape their own creative curriculum.

Flying Club takes place once a week and planned activities have included everything from coding to cheerleading; baking pretzels to pinhole photography and pattern cutting soft toy monsters to visits from the local fire and police services.

The first Flying School coincided with the annual Jeans for Genes Day, which was marked by pupils and staff members wearing their jeans and donating a £1 for this worthy charity which supports the one in 25 children and young people in the country who have rare genetic conditions.
