THE RSPCA has awarded Pendle Council’s dog wardens with a gold Pawprint award for the ninth year in a row.
Barnoldswick councillor David Whipp, who represents Pendle's Neighbourhood Services, said: “This means our team is among the best in the UK. They care for over 200 stray dogs a year and run educational sessions in schools about responsible dog ownership.
“They also organise free micro-chipping drop-ins with the Dogs Trust to help dog owners stay within the new law, which came in last year.”
Dog owners are welcome to bring their pets to the next free microchipping and health check event, which will be held from noon to 3pm on Tuesday at the Victory Park Pavilion, on West Close Road, Barnoldswick.
It includes a free check your chip service, basic health check and free nail clipping.
