SKIPTON: GTS Performing Arts will present performances of Hansel and Gretel and The Panto at 7.30pm tomorrow and Saturday at Skipton Little Theatre.

Act one will be a new version of Hansel and Gretel and act two will be The Panto.

Doors open at 7pm and tickets cost £5, payable on the evening of performance.

The pantomime Beauty and the Beast will be staged at The Mart Theatre from tomorrow to Sunday.

Show times are 7pm on the Friday, and 1pm and 4pm on the Saturday and Sunday.

The story begins as Skipton townsfolk are riding high on a wave of euphoria after they were awarded the honour of being the happiest place to live in the kingdom!

Alas, the revelry is short lived as the wicked Prince Alexandre ascends to the throne following the tragic death of the much loved King Albert.

Prince Alexandre throws the most regal coronation ever and all of the townsfolk are commanded to attend and bring an expensive gift.

However, a local beggar woman offers up a single, meagre rose, which the prince sneers at in contempt.

The beggar, enraged, places a curse upon the prince, turning him into a hideous beast. And this is where the tale truly begins...

Pinsuti, the Ilkley and Skipton Chamber Choir, will perform its Christmas concert Snow and Angels at 7pm on Sunday at Holy Trinity Church in Skipton.

The concert music will include Quartel's Snow Angel, Cornelius's Three Kings, Howell's Spotless Rose, Jackson's The Christ-Child and Leighton's Lully Lulla.

Craven Arts' Christmas exhibition, featuring works by more than 40 local artists, runs until Saturday, December 23, in the Exhibition Gallery at Skipton Town Hall.

It is open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday and on Christmas market Sundays.

Skipton Town Hall will screen two Christmas films, Elf at 2pm on Saturday and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation at 7pm on Saturday, December 23. Tickets cost £5 or £3 for under 18s.

Also on Saturday, December 23, Quantum Theatre will give a performance of A Christmas Carol at 2:30pm.

The production has been adapted and directed by Michael Whitmore. Tickets cost £7.50.

Skipton Film Club will screen Lady Macbeth at 5.15pm on Sunday, January 7, at the Plaza Cinema, on Sackville Street.

Members and non members are welcome.

SETTLE: Local singing group Octameron will perform a 45-minute concert of Christmas songs at The Folly in Settle at 2.30pm on Saturday.

Tickets are available from Cave and Crag, Bentham Post Office and Skipton Camera Centre, and on the door.

The RAMJam project, which allows young people to devise, improvise and perform new works, with an emphasis on jazz and world music, will perform the RAMJAM Christmas show at 7.30pm on Saturday in Settle Victoria Hall.

Pendle Productions will present the touring pantomime Aladdin at 2pm on Sunday in Settle Victoria Hall.

The Christmas Sixties Show, a tribute to famous 1960's performers Roy Orbison, Everley Brothers and Neil Diamond, will be performed at 7.30pm on Sunday in Settle Victoria Hall.

Glamrockz, a tribute band to the greatest of early 1970's Glam Rock, will perform at 8.30pm on Saturday, December 23, in Settle Victoria Hall.

Students of Settle College will perform two Christmas concerts on Monday and Tuesday in the main school hall.

The concerts will feature musical performances, carol singing, Christmas readings, games and festive fun.

Doors open at 6pm and the concerts start at 6.30pm.

Tickets cost £6 for adults and £4 concessions and include a refreshment and mince pie.

The autumn exhibition Wild Wood will be on display until Saturday, December 23, at Gavagan Art Gallery in Settle Town Hall.

Trees are the subject of the exhibition which features drawings, paintings, original prints and ceramics.

The exhibition is open from 11am to 4pm Thursdays to Saturdays.

The new winter exhibition, The Poetry of Tom Twisleton, runs until January 25, 2018, at the Gallery on the Green.

BARNOLDSWICK: Legendary 1970's band T Rex will, featuring Paul Fenton on drums and former Saxon guitarist Graham Oliver, will perform on Sunday at the Barnoldswick Music and Arts Centre, on Rainhall Road.

Then on Tuesday, Americana, rock 'n' roll and country band Hiding Magpies will perform songs from their debut album at the Barnoldswick centre.

Doors open at 7.30pm and both concerts start at 8pm.

CARLETON-IN-CRAVEN: The film La La Land will be screened for Carleton Film Night on Saturday, December 30, in Carleton Village Hall.

The first event of 2018 at Iron Horse Country Music Club, which meets in Carleton Social Club, will be held on Saturday, January 13, when Harrogate vocalist and guitarist Chris Raddings will perform.

CONONLEY: Cononley Singers’ Christmas concerts, which will support Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day, will be held tomorrow in Cononley Institute and on Saturday at Christ Church in Skipton. Both concerts start at 7.30pm.

The Singers will be wearing Christmas jumpers and the audience is invited to do the same.

GLUSBURN: Cine North will screen the popular Christmas film Elf, starring Will Ferrell, at 6.30pm tomorrow at the Glusburn Institute Community and Arts Centre.
