STUDENTS at Craven College have landed one of the plum seasonal jobs in the world of festive entertainment - helping Santa out as carriage entertainers aboard the Embsay and Bolton Abbey steam railway.

The Performing Arts students are singing, dancing and telling stories to keep children on the railway's 'Santa Specials' happy until Father Christmas gets to see them.

They have been busy rehearsing in their own time and are working each weekend in December.

Tutor Giles Atkinson said: "The girls will be singing, dancing and story-telling to keep the children entertained. They are gaining valuable work experience acting in public and also helping with their confidence performing in an unusual setting."
