CAVERS have recovered the body of a 68-year-old man who went missing in Ewes Top Moss cave, Whernside.
He was found after members of the Clapham-based Cave Rescue Organisation had also made a search of the moorland and the sinkholes on Scales Moor north of Ingleton.
He was discovered by a CRO member and was recovered from the pothole and carried by stretcher to Scar End Farm and transferred to a private ambulance.
CRO were called for assistance in the search by North Yorkshire Police who had been alerted to the man's disappearance.
