THE Bosom Friends Santa Fun Run in Barnoldswick last Sunday had to be postponed because of icy footpaths.
The event was due to feature 230 participants all decked out in Santa suits, but after a risk assessment on Sunday morning organiser Sharon Hurst was advised to cancel the fun run.
"Because the pavements were so bad in Barnoldswick, I was advised to cancel it," Sharon said. "There was ice on the footpaths and I couldn't risk anyone falling."
Although Sharon said she was "absolutely gutted" that she had to make the decision, she did say the Bosom Friends Santa Fun Run has been rescheduled for Sunday, December 24, with a 10am start at West Craven High School.
There will not be any registration before the run on Christmas Eve, so Sharon said participants can just turn up to take part.
However, Santa suits and numbers must be collected between 7pm and 8pm this Thursday from the Bosom Friends Cancer Support Centre, 2 Green Street, Barnoldswick.
