The 20-year-old man who died after a midnight crash in Whetley Lane today has been named locally as Hasan Dad.

In the incident two cars crashed then collided with two other parked vehicles. 

It happened shortly after midnight on Whetley Lane, near to the junction with Fairbank Road in Manningham.

A large crowd gathered at the scene with firefighters having to put up barriers to shield paramedics from view while they carried out CPR on the roadside, said a fire & rescue service spokesman.

Mr Dad, who was a legal apprentice, was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary but was pronouced dead later.

Aneesa Chaudary who was Hasan’s supervisor at Alison Law Solicitors in Campus Road, Bradford, paid this tribute: "Hasan was the life of the firm, his youth and his curious attitude were refreshing.  Hasan was always respectful and kind." 

Police said a grey Peugeot 107, travelling along Fairbank Road towards the junction with Whetley Lane, and a grey Vauxhall Astra  travelling along Whetley Lane in the direction of Toller Lane collided close to the junction just after midnight and then collided with two parked cars at the side of the road.

It is understood that Hasan had been on his way home from a Christmas holiday job at a restaurant when the collision happened.
