TEACHERS, pupils and parents at Austwick Primary School are celebrating the publication of a recent Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) report.
After an inspection that took place in early December, the school was judged to be the highest possible 'outstanding' - an improvement on the former 'good' from 2013.
The assessment took an entire day with the inspector spending time with children and staff and also holding talks with governors and parents.
In his report, he stated: “School leaders provide a nurturing environment based on Christian values, which is enabling all children to thrive personally, to achieve well both collectively and as individuals, and to make good progress academically”.
Headteacher, Jo Lister, said: “It’s fantastic news and a testament to the hard work of everyone involved with Austwick Primary. The children in particular deserve special credit. While recognising the high academic standards and achievements of the school, we are particularly proud of the fact that this inspection also praised the children for their caring attitudes towards each other, their opportunities for emotional and spiritual development, and their knowledge and appreciation of cultural diversity. ”
The school is also classed 'outstanding' by Ofsted.
