A SERIES of craft and sewing workshops will start in Skipton next week.

The Make and Take sessions will be held at the Soroptimist Rooms on Otley Street and will raise money for Martin House Hospice Care for Children and Young People.

They have been organised by Martin House Makers, a project which aims to reuse and upcycle items which have been donated to the charity which can’t be sold in its shops.

Each of the four workshops cost £10 for a two-hour session, with all the proceeds going to Martin House.

Karen Shah, Martin House Makers manager, said: “You will get the chance to work on some simple but effective projects in the company of experienced craftspeople, learn a new skill and take away what you have made. You’ll also be helping to support families near you who need our care.”

The workshops take place on Tuesdays between 1pm and 3pm. The first session will be held next Tuesday and the others are on February 6 and March 6.

They will each have a different theme, including Valentine’s Day and Mothering Sunday.
