A MAN has been jailed for 14 months after stealing a handbag from a car parked near the Ribblehead Viaduct beauty spot. Mark Leroy Francis, 31, of Barncroft Drive, Seacroft, Leeds, was sentenced at Bradford Crown Court on Friday following a trial at Skipton Magistrates' Court. He denied stealing the bag, containing a bank card, passport and driving licence, and £30 in cash in November 2016. He also denied stealing £60 from a cashpoint in Hawes on the same day. Francis was serving a suspended prison sentence at the time. On Friday, at crown court, Judge David Hatton activated the suspended sentence for 12 months and handed Francis a two-month concurrent sentence for the theft offences.
