A FUNDRAISING coffee morning in Barnoldswick raised almost £1,200 for Manorlands Hospice.

Organised by Amanda Foster, whose late mother was cared for at the Sue Ryder hospice in Oxenhope, the event has become an annual event in the town.

Held at St Joseph's Hall, it receives lots of support from the community, and as well as cakes, there was a treasure map game, a raffle and a tombola, with many prizes donated by businesses in the area. "I would like to thank everyone who helped and everyone who donated," said Amanda. "My mum was cared for at Manorlands for six weeks and received such amazing care.”

Manorlands Community Fundraiser Molly Ralphson said: "It was fantastic to hear that Amanda's coffee morning had gone so well, especially given the bad weather on the day. These events do take a lot of time and effort for the organisers and we sincerely appreciate their efforts. We rely heavily on support from our local community to keep our services running so are very grateful to the Barnoldswick community for their generosity”.
