AS part of the #doyouknowHim? initiative, currently taking place in churches across Skipton, Christ Church, Keighley Road, will be hosting an evening concert with a difference on Friday, March 9.

The ensemble Epiphany is made up professional musicians, many of who have worked internationally with established orchestras.

Their recent work, however, has been less traditional, working in such events as the Ideal Home Exhibition, the Hampton Court Flower Show and in Manchester’s Whitworth Art Gallery.

Here, they have used their considerable musical talents to improvise pieces in response to art works and to play ‘sound portraits’ - unique, individual, spontaneous compositions produced in response to the person sitting in front of them. Many have found these experiences to be deeply moving.

The concert at Christ Church will be an opportunity to listen to members of the ensemble performing a programme of light classics and to experience some ‘sound portraits’. The concert will start at 7pm, and tickets are available from the town’s churches and may also be reserved on the #doyouknowHim? website priced at £5, including light refreshments. It promises to be an intriguing evening for all music lovers.

Epiphany will also be playing in Craven Court on Saturday 10th March 10, between 1pm and 2pm and in Hettie’s Café on the High Street during the morning, weather permitting.
