A FOOD, gifts and coffee shop in Ingleton which employs more than 70 people is to celebrate 25 years in business by opening a new 'homeware cabin.'

Country Harvest, on the A65 just outside the village, will open the cabin on March 1.

It will sell a range of wallpapers, cushions and glassware - and promote the work of prominent artists and craftspeople from Craven and further afield.

Owner Mike Clark said: “This year is our 25th anniversary, quite a milestone for any business, and to celebrate that we are completing our expansion plans with the opening of our Homeware Cabin.

" We are proud that our customers have remained loyal and each year has been more successful than the last; we have so many regular customers and we love the fact we are a destination point for so many people.

"The new cabin includes Bronte by Moon cushions made from British wool, Voyage cushions; Gillian Arnold wallpapers and homeware, candlesticks from Bell Trees Forge, vases and glasses from Animo Glass, furniture; woollen throws and a wide range of home and garden accessories.

"We have a traditional coffee shop, large food hall with an award-winning butchery department and own bakery. We also sell gifts and women’s and children’s clothing.

"The Cabin will also promote the work of regional artists and craftspeople including Clapham-based Mike Ravey, Bentham artist Rachael Thornton and Lancashire photographer Pete Collins."

With the new Cabin, which will be open seven days a week, hopes are high at the firm that it cements it reputation as one of the biggest visitor attractions in the Ingleton area.

It was originally set up by the Barker and Halhead farming families on the site of a former garage in 1993.

Mike Clark bought the business ten years ago.
