Run with your dog and support Manorlands Hospice.

Canicross is the sport of cross country running with your dog and Skipton is to host the only event in the region, and all for a great cause too.

The 5K race is being held at Funkirk Farm, Carleton-in-Craven on Sunday 15th April 2018. Skipton’s local canicross group, Running Riot, are organising the event and are delighted that they have 100 entries already! All monies raised will be going to Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice.

Millies Wolfheart of Keighley are kindly sponsoring the event, their dog food is for working & sporting dogs and made from British sourced and produced products, so it’s a perfect partnership.

Jo Wormald from Running Riot said: “We are really looking forward to the event which is proving really popular with canicoss runners from all over the country and with local runners giving it a go for the first time.”

Runners can compete with dogs on specialist harnesses and bungee’s or simply on a collar and lead. With the route being on private farmland there will be sheep in the fields and so it is essential that all dogs must be on a lead or a harness at all time whilst at the event site.

Manorlands Community Fundraiser Molly Ralphson said: “It’s great to have the support from Millie’s Wolfheart as the main sponsor for this event and we would also like to thank local pet food companies Cobbydog and Hollings for donating products for entrants. John Howard of Funkirk Farm has been very amenable allowing the event on his land and of course Running Riot are doing a sterling job. Manorlands Hospice needs the support and generosity of local people and businesses to support its events and we are really appreciative of their support”.
