A CHARITY which helps provide respite breaks for disadvantaged children and their families has raised £14,500 with a ball held at the Coniston Hotel.

Manager of the Skipton-based Principle Trust Children's Charity Hayley Kitching said she wished to give "a very big thank you" to all the people who attended the event and helped to make it such a success.

The Principle Trust works closely with local authorities, children’s social Services, other charities and schools provide respite breaks and currently runs three homes at the Marton Mere Holiday Park in Blackpool which provide week-long breaks to children throughout the year.
