SKIPTON Rotary Club is appealing to owners of unwanted bicycles to hand them over for a good cause.
The club is helping to raise money for the Friends of Aireville Park’s new planned children’s play area.
And, on Sunday, May 27, it is hoping to sell lots of bikes for the cause at a car boot sale at Skipton Auction Mart, off Gargrave Road.
“We need as many bikes as possible,’ said Rotary organiser David Goldie. “And even those in poor condition we can send to the Margaret Carey Foundation where they can be repaired and then donated to communities in need both in the UK and developing countries.”
Anyone wishing to donate a bike can leave it at the Rotary car park at Skipton Building Society on any Saturday, between 9.30am and 2.30pm, or they can arrange for collection from David Goldie
