DAN Nightingale, Roger Monkhouse and Scott Bennett are performing the latest High Adventure charity comedy night. The three stand-up comics can be seen at the Rendezvous Hotel in Skipton as guests of the Cowling adventure centre.

High Adventure staff are again working with the hotel owners for the event, which will be on May 11 at 7pm. Proceeds this time will go to Petal Cancer Research, Cowling Football Club and Darren Cresser.

Roger Monkhouse is a stand-up comedian, actor, presenter, writer and voice-over artist. He is said to be a consummate stand-up comic who employs a deadly combination of charm and menace to exert a masterful control over any audience.

A spokesman said: “A highly original and quirky performer, Roger Monkhouse`s trademark stage-prowling style and curious, inimitable manner have established him as one of the hottest names on the comedy circuit.

“Supremely confident, with audience banter down to an art form, Roger is happy to improvise freely but has no shortage of first-class material in his armoury. A master of observational comedy with a routine that is universally and unfailingly hysterical.”

Roger is also a sought-after compere and headliner across the UK and internationally. One critic said: “He is unfailingly entertaining and skilfully able to pull punch lines, seemingly, out of thin air.”

Originally from Preston in Lancashire, Dan Nightingale started his comedy career while living in Newcastle in 2002. After working at The Hyena Comedy Café as a soundman for six months, he finally got on stage.

He moved to Manchester within 12 months, going from barman at the Frog & Bucket, to booking agent, to hosting the new act night, and finally compering the weekends. In June 2004 Dan turned professional, and at that year’s Edinburgh Festival he performed as part of the Big Value Comedy Show, returning in 2005 as part of a double-header with Josie Long.

Scott Bennett started starting comedy in late 2009, and rapidly established himself as one of the fastest rising stars on the UK circuit. Likeable, with a warm and engaging delivery, he is a Yorkshire livewire with an undeniable no nonsense logic.

In demand by many of the big clubs, Scott delivers wry observations on the absurdity of modern living with sharply-written routines. His sharply-written routines have been delighting audiences across the country.

In 2013 and 2015 he performed at the prestigious Big Value showcase recently launched household names like Jason Manford and Sarah Millican.
