PUPILS from Bradleys Both Community Primary School have formed part of a massed choir of 400 schoolchildren from across North Yorkshire who performed in a special concert to commemorate the end of the First World War.

The concert, at Harrogate Convention Centre, was organised by the North Yorkshire County Council Music Service. The children sang a series of songs from the war, alongside musicians from across the county, including The Band of the Royal Armoured Corps and Music Centre ensembles.

At the end of the concert, images of people involved in the war 100 years ago were projected onto a large screen, accompanied by a series of musical pieces.

Bradleys Both Headteacher Barry Rogers said he had been keen to involve pupils in the event as they had been learning about the war earlier in the school year and it had given them an exciting and memorable experience.

He said: "The children worked so hard to learn, rehearse and perform their songs and everyone was immensely proud to be involved.

"It was such a fantastic experience working with the full range of musicians, bands and singers."
