CHILDREN from a Sutton primary school again ran the Race for Life in aid of Cancer Research.

Sutton CP School pupils took part in the charity event for the fourth year running at the end of a busy week of tests in the school.

School head Fiona Beetles said: “Children, staff and parents put on their running kit, limbered up and jogged into the warm sunshine of Sutton Park.

“They were cheered on by probably the biggest crowd of supporters we have ever seen at this event as they ran, walked, jogged, hopped and skipped nine laps round Sutton Park to complete the 5k event.”

Teaching assistant Kirsty Ibbotson was praised for her impeccable organisation to ensure the event runs smoothly as usual.

Staff in the round with the children acted as marshals, while some parents also ran with their children, raising money along the way.

Local Police Community Support Officers also attended, and a huge number of supporters cheered on the children.
