‘CHEMICALS’ have been recovered from a suspected drugs laboratory during a police raid.
Police officers carried out a ‘pre-planned warrant’ at an industrial estate in Boot Street, Earby, at around 9.30am last Wednesday.
Firefighters from Burnley were called to the scene to assist the police, who remained at the site throughout last Wednesday and Thursday.
A police spokesman said: “A pre-planned warrant was executed at about 9.30am.
“Police have found what they believe to be an illegal drug lab.
“We can confirm we have found some chemicals but we are analysing these to try and establish what they are.
“Officers are remaining at the scene and investigations are continuing.”
An eyewitness at the time said he saw firefighters walking onto the roof of a building.
He said: “There were police and fire vehicles around the building for some time.”
Another eyewitness said: “There were three CSI vans and two officers stood outside and men in white suits all over.”
