A KING, queen, princes and princesses were everywhere at Cononley Gala.

This year the theme of the gala, which was held on Saturday, June 16, was Cononley: A World of Make Believe.

Gala queen Sophie Wade and gala king Alex Martines were attended by Bethany Taylor and Casey Drake, and the fancy dress competition included all sorts of princesses and princes.

The South Craven Performance Team lead the procession through the village.

There were numerous stalls and side shows and entertainment in the arena was provided by the South Craven Performance Team, The May School of Dance and the dog show run by Perfect-a-Pet.

The Tug-o-War between the Railway Inn and The New Inn was hard fought, and children enjoyed the races and egg throwing.

The Cononley Singers sang a mixture of songs in the bandstand, and the evening do featured a chilli and garlic bread supper by Simply Delicious caterers and live music was provided by Cononley band The Thursdays.

Organisers said everyone had a good time despite the wet weather, and money raised will go to the upkeep and maintenance of the village playing fields.
