A NEW vicar has been appointed to serve Holy Trinity with St Mary-le-Ghyll churches in Barnoldswick and St Michael’s Church in Bracewell.

The Rev Dr Sheena McMain said: “I’m delighted to have been selected to serve the parishes of Barnoldswick and Bracewell in this beautiful part of the country.

“Though I’m a Scot, born and brought up in Aberdeen, I’ve been living and working in West Yorkshire for over 30 years.

“I trained as a doctor in Edinburgh and moved to Leeds to work at St James Hospital. I worked as a GP in a practice near Leeds city centre for 20 happy years.

“Despite this, I felt an increasing tug over a long time to explore full time ministry in the Church of England.”

Ordained in Ripon Cathedral, she has worked in the Rothwell Team Ministry for the last five years.

She will inducted by the Bishop of Ripon, the Rt Rev Dr Helen-Ann Hartley in a service at Holy Trinity at 7pm Monday.
