MEMBERS of Skipton Golf Club hit their stride amid glorious sunshine on a sponsored walk to the summit of an iconic Dales peak.
They were raising cash for the Friends of the Dales, the chosen charity of club president Jonathan White during his term of office, by scaling the summit of Sharp Haw.
After reaching the summit, and its famous 'trig point' known to generations of walkers, the group descended towards Flasby and Gargrave.
Mr White said: "Tiring, but well worth the effort, was the final verdict as the golf course was regained after some six-and-a-half miles, and a deserved drink outside the clubhouse provided a perfect finish to ‘a good walk’ – unspoilt this time! Perhaps golfers and walkers should unite more often!"
