A PARK in Barnoldswick is one of eight in Pendle to retain its Green Flag status.
“It’s fantastic that we’ve been recognised for meeting the high standards demanded by Keep Britain Tidy’s Green Flag award scheme,” said Councillor Paul White, leader of Pendle Council. “And our success is thanks to the hard graft from our staff and teams of park friends and volunteers who make our parks special places for people and visitors to enjoy.”
The international award, now into its third decade, recognises parks and green spaces with high standards.
The eight parks in Pendle recognised as well managed and maintained with good facilities are the Valley Gardens in Barnoldswick; Marsden, Victoria and Walverden parks in Nelson, Barrowford Park, Alkincoats Park in Colne, Ball Grove Park in Trawden, Heyhead Park in Brierfield.
