QUIRKY flowerpot characters and displays have been dotted around Settle over the summer.
The fifth Settle Flowerpot Festival, which runs from July 1 to September 3, features plenty of flowerpot displays designed to attract attention of local people and visitors alike.
A spokesman for Settle Flowerpot Festival said: "It's great fun for all the family and guaranteed to make you smile."
Local people are encouraged to design and build displays out of flowerpots and put them outside their home/business/public area throughout July and August.
There is no theme or prize and the only instruction is that the display should be 'quirky' and 'make people smile'.
Three flowerpot trails are created which provide visitors with a selection of routes throughout the town.
Simple questions are included in the guides for the entertainment of children and adults.
In previous years, organisers estimate that there have been as many as 300 displays ranging from very small, simple one sitting on a windowsill, to a huge one suspended from Castleberg Crag that towers over the town.
