POPULAR presenter TV presenter Gok Wan is to film a reality show with Silsden bridal boutique Ava Rose Hamilton.

Gok, who became a household name with How to Look Good Naked, will film a 10-part series of the popular cable TV show Say Yes to the Dress.

Booked for the series after presenting a successful Say Yes to the Dress special on lifestyle network TLC, he will follow Ava Rose Hamilton staff as they help clients choose wedding dresses from leading designers.

Although the British adaptation of the hit American show will be called Say Yes to the Dress Lancashire, the show will best around. Both of the company’s shops, in Silsden and Colne.

A spokesman for Ava Rose Hamilton’s Silsden shop said: “The series will be filmed in the Silsden boutique with all the team who are from Silsden being involved.

“Gok will be working alongside the Ava Rose Hamilton team, who are all local girls, in our very own boutiques and we are all so excited to be working on this new venture.

“We start filming in September and will last for an initial three months and the show will be aired in early 2019 with hour-long episodes shown each week.”

In a statement this month announcing the filming, Gok said: "I've always been a fan of Say Yes to the Dress and loved making the special so I jumped at the opportunity to do Say Yes to the Dress Lancashire.

“Me saying yes to the show was probably easier than the brides saying yes to the dress!"

Produced by True North, the 10-part series will unveil the inner workings of what is described as one of the top bridal boutiques in the North.

Gok will help boutique owner Paula Chappell, and her dress-obsessed consultants, guide the most demanding and devoted of brides to find the perfect bridal gown and say 'yes' to the dress before they can walk down the aisle and say 'I do'.

Paula Chappell, owner of Ava Rose Hamilton said: "Myself and the Ava Rose Hamilton team are beyond excited to be given the opportunity to work alongside the True North team creating the northern version of Say Yes to the Dress.

“We are all local girls who are extremely proud of our northern roots and we can't wait to share our passion as we help all our brides on their journey to the perfect dress."

Jess Fowle, Creative Director at True North said:

“Say Yes to the Dress is an incredibly well-loved brand so we are very proud to work with Gok and TLC to give it a new northern vibe. We're sure okay that viewers - both old and new - are going to love our funny, feisty brides and the passionate team at Ava Rose Hamilton."
