A ‘GOURMET’ cafe-bistro is the latest addition to one of Skipton’s quaintest and most popular squares.

Chef Helen Nixon and former management trainer Gillian Hodgson, both of Haworth, have launched Greenwood, which features “a full artisan Anglo-Mediterranean menu” at 6, Victoria Square, just off High Street in the town centre.

Gillian said: “Victoria Square has a lovely European café culture feel to it, which just felt perfect for our café- bistro.

“During the day Greenwood is a stylish but traditional café, serving everything from soup and sandwiches to more gourmet foodie-inspired dishes. However, what makes it that little bit special is that during the evening it transforms into an intimate bistro, with damask table cloths.”

She added that their food is locally sourced and prepared by chef Helen, who has previously worked at the Mitre Carlton in London.
