AROUND 40 people took part in Cancer Support Yorkshire’s annual ‘Moonlight’ walk around Skipton town centre, together raising more than £1,500 for the charity.

People walked, ran and jogged along the 5km route, which started from The Three Links Club in Rectory Lane and took place at night.

Helen Gatiss, from the charity, said: “I was amazed how many people took part in the walk, there was a great atmosphere on the night with some of the walkers taking part to show their support to loved ones who are battling with cancer at present or in memory of family member or friend who have unfortunately lost their battle to the disease.

Cancer Support Yorkshire would like to thank the local community for getting behind the charity as money raised from events like these mean that we can continue supporting local people affected by cancer.”

The charity’s next fundraising event will be at the Hollygarth Club, Ilkley. Tickets at £5 by telephone on 01756 228088.
