Greatwood Community Primary School in Skipton has been described as “outstanding” by Ofsted.
Inspectors, who visited the school last month, gave it the highest possible rating for its effectiveness and capacity to improve.
Lead inspector Christopher Keeler said pupils made outstanding progress and achieved “exceptionally well”.
He said that the 217 pupils enjoyed every aspect of school life and were proud of their community. Pupils improved well at the school, had positive attitudes towards learning, were polite and showed respect towards teachers and other adults.
Mr Keeler said teaching was outstanding, there was a good curriculum and “outstanding leadership” lay behind the school’s success.
In a letter to pupils, Mr Keeler said all the inspectors had been impressed by how polite they were.
“Greatwood is a happy school and you play a big part in making it so,” he said.
Headteacher Lisa Taylor, who has been at the school for just two years, said: “I love being the headteacher of Greatwood and I’m very proud of the judgement.”
She said that the outstanding report was down to the hard work of staff, governors, parents and the children.
“Everyone works exceptionally hard and this has shown in Ofsted’s judgement of us,” she said.
