British record holder Chris Brown, from Sutton in Craven, was City of Bradford’s only representative at the British Gas Masters and Senior Age Group Championships at Ponds Forge Sheffield.
Swimming in the 55/59 years age group Brown came home with a national title in the 50 metres backstroke, which he won in a time of 32.04, the time being just outside his British record of 31.48.
His times of 1.10.27 in the 100 metres event and 2.37.61 in the 200 metres event secured him silver medals behind arch rival Eddie Riach of Milngavie and Bearsden. He also placed fourth in the 100 metres butterfly in a time of 1.09.63 Brown trains with Leisure Services coaching and training scheme under the guidance of coach and fellow Masters swimmer Steve Eddison.
