Snack bar targeted in latest bizarre raid

Intruders smashed eggs and mixed them with pickle and flour at a mobile snack bar trailer in Engine Shed Lane at Skipton.

The bizarre break-in follows three similar crimes last week when culprits set out to cause damage to premises.

Thieves tried to blow up the Goa Spice restaurant in Cavendish Street, Skipton, and smashed eggs at the front of a mobile café in a lay-by off the A59 at Broughton before setting it on fire. And all the taps were left on at the Hair Studio in Devonshire Place, Skipton, after another raid.

In the latest incident, between 3pm on Friday and 10am on Saturday, the thieves took two deep-fat fryers together worth £150.

“This is another bizarre burglary with the people responsible intent on causing maximum damage,” said a police spokeswoman.

“A lot of food and drink has been stolen recently and we would like to hear from anyone offered these types of goods but didn’t accept them.”
