Wharfedale rugby player Sam Harrison has been selected to tour South Africa with the Yorkshire U-18 squad next year but needs sponsors to help him fulfil his dream.
Sam is a Sixth form student at Ermysted’s Grammar School where he is the first XV rugby captain.
He plays for Wharfedale Colts and for the Yorkshire under-18s squad. He captained the Yorkshire side when they beat Cheshire 33-12 at Scarborough last October and was also awarded man-of-the-match.
Sam said: “I am thrilled to have been selected by Yorkshire to tour South Africa in July 2011 and now have to raise sponsorship of approximately £3,000.
“I am trying to attract company or individual sponsorship; be it a monetary gift, the opportunity to buy advertising space in the glossy brochure being produced for the tour or by the donation of a raffle prize.
“I have already completed a sponsored press-up event alongside my school rugby teammates, I have recently applied to do the Great North Run, am organising car boot sales, a sponsored leg wax, supermarket bag-packing to name but a few of the fundraising activities I am organising over the next few months.”
