Skipton children log on for home lessons

Skipton’s Greatwood School is turning to the internet to help with its classes.

It has set up a system for use by students and teachers at home and in school. Under the scheme, each child is given a password and username, which allows him or her to access a website called Fronter.

Year two teacher and ICT co-ordinator Charlene Beck said: “To begin with we are starting it in year two. There are lots of activities on the site that children can access at home and it will be updated weekly. Details of homework will also be in place.

“We hope to have the rest of the school up and running no later than April.”
