Mill celebrates 90th anniversary

12:00pm Thursday 11th March 2010

The 90th anniversary of the opening of the final mill to be built in Barnoldswick will be celebrated on Sunday.

Bancroft Mill, on Gillians Lane, will hold its first steaming day of the season and members of the public are invited to celebrate the historic occasion.

The engine will be in full steam between 1pm and 4.30pm.

The Bancroft Mill Engine Trust has made an appeal for wood to fire the cross compound engine.

Trust member Harry Moore said the museum was desperate for wood and wooden pallets.
