A 38-year-old man, whose body was found in the grounds of Cliffe Castle, Keighley, is believed to be from Cowling.
The body was found at about 9.30am on Saturday by a member of the public walking their dog close to the Skipton Road entrance.
Police sealed off the area as CID and scenes-of-crime officers carried out an investigation.
The identity of the dead man has not been formally released.
Detective Inspector John Priestley, of Airedale and North Bradford Police, said: “Inquiries are continuing but the circumstances of the man’s death are not being treated as suspicious.
“We’re not sure how long the body had lain there – it could have been there all night but certainly no longer than that.”
