There could be some raised eyebrows in Kettlewell as weird and wonderful creations take to the streets.
The village will launch its annual scarecrow festival on Saturday and this year’s theme is inventions and jobs.
But residents come up with some imaginative intrepretations – as can be seen from our picture which shows Freddie Mercury with his “Hoover Dam”.
And there will also be an appearance from Jonny Irwin, of BBC property show Escape To The Country fame, who will be visiting the festival next Friday, August 19, when he is expected to make a scarecrow and judge villagers’ creations.
The festival runs until next Sunday, August 21, and proceeds will be divided between three village organisations – St Mary’s Church, the village hall and the local primary school.
