Passengers travelling by train were hit by delays yesterday after a train broke down.
Northern Rail has apologised to commuters who faced delays after a train broke down on the lines near Silsden at about 8.11am.
Replacement bus services were organised for passengers stranded at stations.
A Northern Rail spokesman said: “Our 5.53am Carlisle to Leeds service suffered a fault, causing it to come to a stop between Steeton and Silsden and Keighley stations.
“Because of this, our services between Skipton and Leeds and Bradford Forster Square were disrupted. The train was moved successfully on to Keighley, with all passengers transferred to an alternative service to continue their journey.
“We supplied additional services to ensure all passengers reached their destination and apologise to all customers who were inconvenienced this morning, with delays in some cases of around one hour.”
