North Yorkshire’s County Record Office is offering families a trip down memory lane with a special storytelling and family history event in Skipton.
Families are invited to bring along a picnic lunch and enjoy workshops with storyteller Roop Singh on Monday and Tuesday.
The workshops will include story building activities and storytelling skills. Family members will also be able to record their family memories so they can be listened to in years to come.
The free workshops are being held to give families the chance to research the internet to learn more about their family history with staff from the North Yorkshire County Record Office and the county council’s adult learning and skills service.
County Coun Chris Metcalfe, executive member for library and information services said: “These workshops are an excellent opportunity for families to explore together the art of storytelling and to record their own family stories for posterity. “
The workshops will run from 9.30am to 3.30pm at the Youth and Community Centre, Otley Street, Skipton. To book, contact 0845 300 2414
