A fire that destroyed a barn in Cowling is still under investigation.
Six fire appliances, two water bowsers and an aerial ladder platform from North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and Lancashire were called to Skythorn Farm, on Cowling Hill Lane, at 8.10pm on Monday.
Skipton Fire Station manager Lee Smith said the barn, which was used as a workshop and store for farm machinery, was destroyed in the six-hour blaze.
“It was quite a serious fire, but we managed to stop it from spreading to the nearby buildings and the house,” said Mr Smith. “We eventually extinguished the fire in the early hours of the morning.”
No-one was in the building when the fire started.
Mr Smith said the cause of the blaze had yet to be determined and a fire investigation team was still looking into the incident.
