Four women from North Craven have shed their clothes for a charity calendar after being inspired to raise money for war heroes.

Eneshia Prescott, from Rathmell, came up with the idea after hearing stories from her soldier husband. She hopes to raise £26,000 for the Help for Heroes charity.

Eneshia said: “In August 2011 I married a soldier at Clapham Church. I met him in August 2009 two weeks before he was due to deploy to Afghanistan, fell madly in love and we wrote letters to each other and when he came home in March 2010 he proposed.

“After hearing his stories about his friends that got injured and what he had to do out there, I decided to do something to help. Then, after I had watched the news about an injured serviceman I decided to do this calendar.

“After posting it on Facebook I had a lot of response from girls willing to be in the calendar.”

Eneshia was joined by her sister Keira Goodwin, who lives in Clapham, Amy Skidmore, from Bentham and Helen Pinner, from Settle. A number of other friends and family members from elsewhere in the country also joined the project.

She said: “We are 11 normal girls hoping to raise £26,000 for Help 4 Heroes with our ‘Calendar Girls’ inspired calendar. What we are doing may not be difficult or strenuous but we hope with our calendar we can help make a difference, however small.”

A photoshoot took place at Littlebank Country House, Rathmell, and World Wide Plant, Ingleton, although bad weather caused problems. The girls all posed nude for a number of “tasteful” pictures.

Eneshia said: “The weather was appalling but we soldiered on. Sadly we had to cancel two shots.”

“All the girls were very nervous and cold but enjoyed their experience, the days were great fun and of course the cause is what we are all passionate about.

“The photographers Chris and Rachel of Photogravy made everyone feel at ease and what we saw of the photos they looked fabulous.”

The final shoot took place at the weekend, with much improved weather.

Eneshia is now looking for a print company who will produce the calendars at a low cost. Anyone who can help is asked to get in touch with her via the calendar website.

The finished product will be launched on September 8 at NICE Lancaster, where there will be a meal followed by a charity auction. Donations of auction prizes are welcomed and tickets for the event are on sale now.

The calendar goes on sale after the launch night and will be available online at hottiescalendar.co.uk and from various local shops.

Eneshia said: “We would like to thank everyone for their time and their kindness and would like to hear from anyone who thinks they can help us in our quest to raise £26,000.
