Solar panels to help secure future of Cracoe Village Hall

A scheme which could help to secure the future of Cracoe Village Hall has been given the go-ahead.

The hall has been granted retrospective permission to install solar panels on its lean-to roof.

In its design and access statement, it said the scheme had the potential to save 45 tons of carbon emission over 25 years. And it added: “The current government’s generous initiative for using solar power could provide not only a much needed reduction in the hall’s energy costs but also provide a regular income that will help offset rising operation and heating costs and help towards making the hall’s future more financially secure.”
