To raise money for Cancer Research UK, eight staff and family from Skipton ’s Oakley’s Grill & Pizzeria jumped out of a plane at 15,000 feet.

The parachute jump at Grange-over-Sands was the first installment of many fundraising events arranged by head chef and owner Jamie Oakley and his team. Others taking part were Allan Webb, Adam Edmondson, Jamie Cox, Dan Seddon, Laura and Darren Howson, Kieran Entwistle and Louis Exley.

Mr Oakley said: “We are a family restaurant at the heart of the local community so we wanted to do our bit for a fantastic charity and push ourselves to the limit in the process! everyone knows somebody affected by cancer so we are delighted to aim for £15,000 for Cancer Research over the coming year.

“We look forward to raising more money over the coming months. Next up is a ‘Man or Woman vs Oakley’s eating challenge’.”
