High hopes for final two shows of season
8:00am Friday 31st August 2012 in News
Craven’s show season comes to an end this weekend.
So far the shows have enjoyed mixed fortunes weather-wise.
The 140th Bentham Show will be held at the auction mart as the normal showfield is being developed to provide a new primary school.
As a result there will be no horse classes, but everything else will be the same.
The whole family should be catered for, with classes for cattle, sheep, poultry, pygmy goats, eggs, handicrafts, horticulture, photography and dogs.
The show runs from 9am to 5pm and admission is £6 for adults, £5 for concessions and £1 for children.
Meanwhile, the organisers of Horton-in-Ribblesdale Show are hoping that they will be lucky with the weather.
The indoor classes are exhibited in the school and an adjoining marquee, but, if the weather is inclement the sheep classes will have to brave the elements.
Dogs and pets can be entered on the day and judging will start at 2pm. There will be attractions for children on the field and later on the whole family can enjoy an Italian evening, organised by The Friends of Horton School.
